About the job Head Chef (Basic up to 7k)

Company Background:

Currently representing a fast-growing Food & Beverage retail company with over 20+ outlets across Malaysia. As they are expanding, they are looking for Head Chef.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Developing new dishes and overhauling menus
  2. Providing training, overseeing and handling the entire kitchen operation
  3. Staying up-to-date with culinary trends and kitchen processes
  4. Maintaining costing set by management
  5. Managing inventory, schedule, leave, and procurement
  6. Ensuring that kitchen staff adhere to quality, hygiene, and cleanliness standards
  7. Dealing with suppliers to ensure supply quality
  8. Overseeing the maintenance of kitchen equipment
  9. Handling staff issues, leave & attendance, and taking disciplinary action
  10. Willing to take on more job responsibilities when needed.

Job Requirements:

  1. Diploma/Degree in Food Technology, Food Science or equivalent in any discipline
  2. Min 3 years working experience in a similar job portfolio/industry. Preferably with general knowledge of food technology, equipment, and product development
  3. Detail-oriented, initiative, and self-discipline
  4. Meticulous and enjoy R&D work.
  5. Ability to communicate well with peers and supervisors.

Working Hours: 6 days, off day on weekdays.
