You’ll be free to design pretty pictures in the form of logos, social media content or art for an event & advertising campaigns both digital and outdoor platforms.
You’ll be working so closely with a strategic planner and art director, you’ll finish each other’s sentences. Together, you’ll strategically discuss what works and what doesn’t in terms of design, while always having an eye on what’s new and exciting in the market. Yes, that means you get to Facebook and YouTube more than your ex-boss will be comfortable with.
JOB DESCRIPTIONS:
- Able to conceptualise and obtain input to execute brand campaigns that effectively communicates the story.
- Keep up with the latest design trends & techniques.
- Develop marketing materials in the form of digital posters, brochures, promo videos, production overlays, event happenings and results, infographics and outdoor event materials.
- Create designs in a detail-oriented manner, ensure quality and accuracy of all design related material whilst meeting tight deadlines.
- Collaborate with team members in problem-solving, decision-making and organisation for campaigns.
QUALITIES & TRAITS:Artistic Abilities: You will need to make designs that is loved not only by clients, but also by Ali, Raju, Ah Keong, the nenek next door and her pet cat. Nobody’s perfect, so expect to be making revisions on the same project based on feedback from clients and management.
Communication Skills: Listen, listen, listen to the client's needs to thoroughly understand the market they’re trying to reach. A gift of gab will do you well too, so you can defend your work and promote your ideas (and maybe even get that cute receptionist’s number).
Creativity: While we too love our fair share of cat GIFs, today's graphic designer will also need to work using various computer programs. Graphic designers must always be thinking of new ideas, or new twists on old concepts, and be able to translate that into new design. Picasso did say: good artists copy, great artists steal.
Teamwork & Time Management: Unlike school, there won’t be a bell to tell you when to start or stop or take a break. You’ll need to work together with your teammates and manage your own time wisely, so you don’t have to waste 500 hours on a tiny web banner.
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:Working Hours: 1:00 PM - 10:30 PM
Break Hours: 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Working Days (No WFH): Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday (5 Days)
Other Requirements:- Minimum SPM/O-Levels. Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Graphic Design or closely related field would be a plus.
- A professional portfolio that demonstrates the scope of your talent and the depth and breadth of your work.
- Expert in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) After Effects, motion graphics or video editing skills is a major advantage.
- Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia language (Chinese language will be an added advantage).
- Not camera-shy and interactive characters.
- Willing to work on Sunday & Public Holiday during campaigns & events.
- Flexible for shifting schedule and changes along with it.
- In-depth knowledge of the social media digital platform, its features, and the preferences of its user base.
- Proficiency in photo/video shooting and editing using professional-grade equipment and software.
- Strong storytelling and CREATIVE THINKING skills to develop engaging and unique video/campaign.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Organised and Structured for Project Planning and Execution.
- Up-to-date knowledge of current trends, challenges, and popular culture.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Familiarity with social media analytics tools to track and analyze the performance.
- Passion for social media, digital marketing, and content creation.
- Pleasant attitude; cheerful and focused on details, well organized.
- Excellent time management skills and willing to work long hours if needed.
