What You'll Do

As the General Manager Research & Development, your role will be pivotal in driving the company's innovation strategy. You will be responsible for staying ahead of emerging trends and identifying technologies that can enhance our competitive edge. Your leadership skills will be crucial in managing and motivating the innovation team, fostering a culture of creativity and continuous improvement. You will lead the exploration of new materials, drive research into alternatives, to enhance product performance and introduce new features will be key in meeting evolving customer needs. Collaborating with external partners will also be part of your role, as well as establishing metrics to measure project success.

1. Develop and execute a comprehensive innovation strategy.
2. Stay ahead of emerging trends and market opportunities.
3. Manage, motivate, guide, coach, and mentor the innovation team.
4. Lead the exploration and development of new materials.
5. Drive research into alternative materials.
6. Lead efforts to enhance product performance and introduce new features.
7. Ensure alignment of innovation projects with market demands and business goals.
8. Collaborate with external partners to leverage external expertise and resources.
9. Establish metrics and KPIs to measure the success of innovation projects.

What You Bring

As the General Manager Research & Development, you bring a wealth of experience in R&D or product development roles. Your strong knowledge of materials science will be invaluable in this role, particularly if you have experience with sustainable materials and green chemistry. Your proven track record of delivering innovative products that achieve commercial success sets you apart. Your ability to manage, motivate, and develop a team will be crucial in fostering a collaborative and innovative team culture. Your excellent communication skills will enable you to influence stakeholders at all levels, while your understanding of global market trends will guide your innovation strategies.

1. PhD in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science or related field.
2. Minimum 15 years of experience in R&D or product development roles.
3. Proven track record of delivering innovative products.
4. Strong knowledge of materials science.
5. Experience with sustainable materials and green chemistry.
6. Expertise in cost engineering and product performance optimization.
7. Ability to manage, motivate, and develop a team.
8. Excellent communication skills with ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
9. Understanding of global market trends.
