The General Manager – Operations is responsible for overseeing all aspects of factory operations, including production, maintenance, and warehouse department, ensuring operational efficiency, compliance, and continuous improvement. This role requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and operational expertise to drive productivity and cost-effectiveness while maintaining high safety and quality standards.
Job Responsibilities
- Oversee overall factory operations, including production, maintenance, and warehouse, to ensure efficiency and smooth operations.
- Foster a collaborative and performance-driven culture across departments to achieve operational goals.
- Regularly meet with managers to discuss progress, resolve challenges, and provide guidance for departmental improvement.
- Ensure employees receive adequate training in safety, quality, and operational efficiency.
Operations & Production Management
- Oversee production activities to ensure the timely and efficient manufacturing of products.
- Optimize resource utilization to improve production output and minimize waste.
- Lead new product introduction (NPI) and process scalability initiatives.
Maintenance & Equipment Efficiency
- Lead the maintenance team to ensure all machinery and equipment operate at optimal levels.
- Implement preventive maintenance programs to reduce operational disruptions and enhance equipment reliability.
- Develop and enforce maintenance protocols to reduce costs and improve asset life cycles.
Warehouse & Inventory Management
- Oversee warehouse operations and ensure safe and effective inventory control, handling, and distribution of materials and products to support production and sales.
- Collaborate with Planning, Procurement, and Logistics teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials and spare parts.
Strategic Planning & Continuous Improvement
- Collaborate with the COO and other senior leaders to develop and implement operational strategies that align with business goals.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, incorporating Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies to increase productivity and reduce waste across production, warehouse, and maintenance operations.
- Implement and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure success and identify areas for improvement.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations and manufacturing industry standards.
- Enforce safety practices to maintain a safe and productive work environment.
Continuous Improvement & Operational Modernization
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in operations to enhance efficiency, optimize layouts, and improve equipment performance.
- Lead modernization projects to enhance factory operations and improve competitiveness.
Reporting & Coordination
- Provide regular reports on operational performance, including production, maintenance, and inventory management, to senior management.
- Work closely with other departments to ensure seamless factory operations.
Qualifications & Preferred Skills
Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Food Science, or a related field.
- Master’s Degree in a relevant field is an added advantage.
- Certifications in maintenance management or Lean Manufacturing are a plus.
Experience:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with a managerial role overseeing operations, production, maintenance, and warehouse.
- Experience in operational modernization and process optimization is a strong advantage.

Desired Skills (Good to Have):
- Familiarity with GMP, HACCP, ISO 22000:2018, and other food safety regulations.
- Experience in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Proficiency in ERP systems, maintenance management software, and operational management tools.
