Job Summary:
The General Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the café, dance and piano studio, apparel shop, and children's art centre. This role requires a versatile leader who can manage multiple aspects of the business, ensure high levels of customer satisfaction, and drive business growth. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in management, excellent organizational skills, and a passion for the arts and community engagement.
Job Scopes
Operational Management
Oversee the daily operations of the café, dance and piano studio, apparel shop, and children's art centre
Ensure all areas are staffed appropriately and run smoothly and efficiently
Implement and monitor operational policies and procedures to enhance productivity and customer service
Financial Management
Develop and manage budgets for each business unit
Monitor financial performance, including sales, expenses, and profitability
Prepare financial reports and provide insights to the owner/director
Team Leadership
Recruit, train, and supervise staff across all business units
Foster a positive and collaborative work environment
Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching and development opportunities
Customer Service
Ensure a high standard of customer service across all business units
Handle customer inquiries, feedback, and complaints effectively
Develop strategies to improve customer satisfaction and retention
Marketing and Business Development
Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote the café, studios, shop, and art centre
Plan and execute events, workshops, and promotions
Build and maintain relationships with local community groups, schools, and businesses
Facility Management
Ensure the cleanliness, safety, and maintenance of all facilities & Coordinate repairs and upgrades as needed
Inventory Management
Oversee inventory levels for the café and apparel shop & Implement effective stock control systems
Job Requirement
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a managerial role, preferably in a similar multifaceted environment
Strong financial acumen and experience with budget management
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
Proven ability to manage multiple business units and a diverse team
Passion for the arts, community engagement, and customer service
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and business management software
Personal Attributes: Highly organized and detail oriented Creative and strategic thinker Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions
