Objectives of the position

Digitalization will be a true part of BASF’s DNA that creates new exciting customer experiences and business growth as well as drives efficiencies in processes. This is our digital VISION for BASF.

In our SCOTT Solutions unit, you will support our customers on complex IT application topics in sustainability and directly contribute to BASF's strategic path towards net zero.

From the beginning, you will be responsible for solving practical challenges that our internal partners face using state-of-the-art technology and methods.

The team has a portfolio of solutions in productive use as well as in development. The technology setup is a BASF private Azure with Kubernetes hosting containerized web applications written in Python and JavaScript.

Responsibilities

• You will create and review UI/UX designs, take technical decisions, and take care of their technical implementation.
• You will develop according to modern coding, security, and tool standards and implement front-end architecture.
• You will consider the development of new applications, as well as operations and maintenance as a valuable part of your daily work.
• You will always have an eye on technical innovations and evaluate them in terms of their usefulness for the team.
• You will work in a self-organized way within a small team and collaborate across different solutions.
• You will lead subprojects and align with internal partners on scope, feasibility, and timeline.
• You will monitor, test, and improve front-end performance.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science or in a comparable field.
• Minimum 3 years of related working experience in front-end development.
• Expertise in a front-end component-based framework like Vue, React, or Angular.
• In-depth knowledge of HTML, CSS3, SCSS, REST API (JSON) is required.
• Knowledge of CI/CD DevOps framework and version control systems (for example, GIT).
• Familiarity with GitHub Copilot.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
