The Fleet Engineer provides technical support to one or multiple Fleet Managers and customers on an ongoing basis. He/she implements machinery management solutions and recommends improvement plans utilizing Insight System and Equipment Health Management Tools and Processes.

Working under the guidance of the Senior Fleet Manager, the Fleet Engineer is responsible for technical support of the gas turbine packages and regular equipment assessments. Provides support to the customer's technical staff as well as to Solar technicians and assists with the completion of maintenance tasks on equipment under contract.


PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  1. Provide technical support to Fleet Manager and customers.
  2. Coordinate and support parts.
  3. Assist with personnel provisioning and mobilization of onsite support.
  4. Lead onsite connectivity surveys and participate in discussions between Solar and the customer IT teams.
  5. Assist Fleet Manager in onsite failure investigation activities, ensuring that all relevant data is collected and reported, and track the implementation of corrective actions or recommendations.
  6. Track and report on all work performed through the agreement, ensuring timely report submissions.
  7. Accountable for compliance with Solar and customer HSSE requirements.
  8. Reduce the time spent by the customer contacting Solar for information and coordination activities.
  9. Assist FM with the review/optimization of spare parts and stock levels.
  10. Assist Fleet Managers with evaluation and determination of asset criticality and develop plans for optimum location of parts to support maintenance.
  11. Improve maintenance effectiveness.
  12. Assist Fleet Manager with the development and review of maintenance & inspection programs on all assets.
  13. Work with district office and customer to plan and support maintenance activities.
  14. Participate in routine maintenance and inspection activities to develop first-hand experience of actual site conditions.
  15. Use acquired knowledge of turbomachinery and rotating equipment to prevent breakdowns.

QUALIFICATIONS

The Fleet Engineer will have demonstrated sound technical proficiency and knowledge of gas turbine and turbomachinery equipment and be able to understand, evaluate, and analyze complex technical information. He/she must have the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical internal and external customers and possess strong interpersonal skills. Must be able to work effectively under pressure and follow direction with a strong sense of urgency.

The Fleet Engineer I will have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a technical discipline and a minimum of 3+ years' experience in the oil & gas market.
