About the role
Work Location: 1Powerhouse, PJ (5mins walk from MRT Bandar Utama)
Reporting To: GL Controller
Working Hours: 2.00PM – 11.00PM / 3.00 PM -12.00 AM
The Fixed Asset Accountant is responsible for maintaining and updating the fixed asset records, including the fixed asset register. The role involves ensuring the fixed asset register is updated monthly, considering all receipts, disposals, transfers, or write-offs of assets, calculating depreciation accordingly, and reconciling the fixed asset register to the general ledger monthly.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor controls, procedures, and forms for the recordation of fixed assets.
- Recommend to business any updates to accounting policies related to fixed assets.
- Track the compilation of project costs into fixed asset accounts and close out once the related projects have been completed.
- Record fixed asset acquisitions, dispositions and depreciation in the SAP accounting system.
- Reconcile the balance in the fixed asset subsidiary ledger to BW/SAP Trial Balance, CRS and BPC.
- Conduct IFRS16 and AUC analyses related to fixed assets for reporting to business.
- Prepare audit schedules relating to fixed assets and provide support to auditor’s inquiries.
- Ensure FA Period-end and Year-end Ledger Closing is completed in a timely manner as per Global KPIs.
- Effectively manage multiple stakeholders within the organization.
- Verify all the data is accurate for reporting purposes.
- Support in the improvement of processes and practices across the company.
Qualifications and skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or similar field.
- Minimum 5 years of related experience with exposure to working in Shared Services environment.
- Strong SAP knowledge is a must.
- Experience in preparing end to end Fixed Asset Transactions and processes.
- General Ledger experience such as accruals, prepayments, balance sheet reconciliations, Intercompany Accounting and Audit Support (Internal and External) is an added advantage.
- Master Data Management (MDM) knowledge.
