POSITION: First Level Executive, Numismatic & Investment Coin | Jabatan Mata Wang (MyMint)

ROLE PURPOSE

The First Level Executive of Numismatic & Investment Coin is responsible to perform and ensure day-to-day processes and operations related to numismatic currency products and precious metal coins are executed robustly and in strict adherence to established SOPs to achieve both operational and strategic goals.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  1. Commemorative Coin Issuances: Perform and execute the end-to-end processes for issuing new commemorative coins to ensure timely issuance that meets the Bank’s and stakeholders’ objectives. This includes obtaining Management Committee (MC) and Minister of Finance’s approval for commemorative coin issuances, collaborating closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful project completion, managing the execution of the sale and delivery of commemorative coins by outsourced partners as well as providing timely response to public queries.
  2. Product Development and Design Concept: Collaborate with coin designers in developing concept designs for consideration and approval by MC and the Minister of Finance. Part of the role includes overseeing the design deliberation process at the Notes and Coins Advisory Committee (NCAC) and MC.
  3. Kijang Emas Operational Management: Execute end-to-end operational processes related to Kijang Emas to ensure efficient and orderly distribution of the gold bullion coins. This includes overseeing Kijang Emas issuance to the outsourced partner (OP), supervising the operations and performance of OP, performing timely and accurate reconciliation and system recording exercise as well as assisting in developing and/or improving the overall efficiencies and strategies for the Kijang Emas ecosystem.
  4. Effective and Efficient Numismatic Work Processes: Assist Manager in managing manpower and budget resources, procedural manual management and cross sectional/departmental collaboration to ensure the section’s primary mandates are optimally delivered. This includes performing the periodic review and development of relevant procedural manuals, participating in the designed training programmes as well as ensuring full adherence and alignment with the Bank’s compliance standards and risk appetite in delivering assigned projects and tasks.
  5. Inventory Management: Perform and ensure accurate recording and accounting entries of stock in the relevant systems on a timely basis, including disposal activities. This includes ensuring housekeeping of the vault/strong room areas assigned to NIC and handling approval processes related to VIP, presentation and heritage stock allocation, special sales and corporate gift request as approved by Pengarah.
  6. Secretariat Lead for Notes and Coins Advisory Committee (NCAC): Perform the coordination and secretarial work for NCAC to ensure effective and seamless discharge of the committee’s roles. Part of the role includes recommending NCAC members for the consideration and approval by the Bank.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Academic Qualifications: Degree or professional qualifications in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Banking, Finance or equivalent.
  2. Experience: Minimum 2 years' experience and knowledge in numismatic, outsourcing, currency management or related areas is an added advantage.
