Financial Controller (General Manager)

Overview

To manager financial transaction services, reporting, taxation and transfer price management of the Hartalega group.

Job Responsibilities

• Ensure good transaction processing system and procedure for financial transactions such as payments and receipts.
• Ensure timely and accurate production of management reports for the group.
• Ensure presence of appropriate internal control policies to ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reported.
• Ensure timely and accurate audited financial statements for the group.
• Responsible for corporate governance compliance for the group.
• Ensure compliance with tax requirements and become a liaison with tax authorities, to seek and establish the best possible approach to achieve the most efficient effective tax rate for the group to negotiate the best possible tax treatment for the group.
• Lead role in developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive financial information for analysis, management and control purposes.
• Oversee the preparation of all financial reporting including consolidated group accounts, operation budgets and forecasts.
• Manage treasury operations including cash management, forecasting, funding, credit programs and forex exposure.
• Lead and oversee the investor relations function, ensuring effective communication of the company’s financial performance, strategy, and outlook to investors, analysts, and stakeholders.
• Assist to work on investment appraisals to help derive sound decision on potential investment opportunities.
• Manage the Group’s transfer pricing documentation and compliance.
• Review and advise the management on the potential business risk that may arise from the change in statutory requirements, cross border investment, forex risk, tax etc.
• Ensure appropriate insurance coverage of all organization properties and business activities.
• Assist and work with relevant departments, consultants, banks and authorities on corporate exercises in relation to investments, merger and acquisitions.
• Responsible for managing and resourcing of activities related to development, implementation and management of all finance systems of the group.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, with Professional Accounting qualification. Master’s Degree is an added advantage.
• Minimum 15 years of relevant working experience, including 8 years of senior management role in finance.
• Exposure in integrating IT application into financial reporting etc. to support business needs
• Strong knowledge on Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
• In-depth knowledge of country regulatory environments, governing bodies and industry compliance requirements i.e. Malaysian Code of Corporate Governance, Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS), Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia and Bursa Malaysia Listing Requirements.
• Good understanding of global and socio-economic business and industry trends, market drivers and their impact on Hartalega’s group business.
