Overview: The Financial Controller plays a pivotal role in ensuring the financial health, stability, and transparency of the organization. This senior leadership position is responsible for overseeing all financial operations, ensuring compliance with regulations, and delivering actionable insights to guide the company’s strategic direction. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, analytical thinker with a strong background in financial management and team leadership.
A. Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Operations:
Oversee several financial operations functions, revenue collections, billings, accounts payable and general ledger.
Implement and maintain robust financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Ensure timely and accurate processing of financial transactions based on the approved timeline and checklists.
Work with Group Tax team to ensure direct and indirect tax compliance and reporting. - Month End Closing and Financial Reporting:
Oversee the preparation of comprehensive financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports, in adherence to relevant accounting standards.
Liaise with PIC from subsidiaries on timely submissions of monthly management accounts.
Collaborate with Financial Planning and Analysis team in providing a comprehensive periodic reporting for monthly, quarterly announcements and annual audited financial reports. - Compliance & Risk Management:
Ensure compliance with local, national, and international accounting regulations, tax laws, and financial reporting standards.
Ensure all tasks performed are in line with internal controls to safeguard company assets and minimize financial risks.
Collaborate with Financial Control and System team, internal and external auditors during periodic assessments and audits and implement recommended improvements. - Team Leadership:
Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Set performance objectives, conduct regular reviews, and provide constructive feedback to team members.
Promote cross-departmental collaboration to ensure cohesive financial practices throughout the organization. - Stakeholder Communication:
Act as the primary liaison with external stakeholders, including auditors. - Systems & Process Optimization:
Work with Financial Control and System team to streamline workflows and enhance reporting accuracy.
Drive automation initiatives and best practices in financial management.
B. Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
Professional certifications such as CPA, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent.
Proven experience (5+ years) in financial leadership roles, preferably as a Controller or similar.
Experience working in a Public Listed (Main Board) will be an advantage.
Strong proficiency in financial software, ERP systems Oracle Fusion and Microsoft Excel.
Comprehensive knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and other accounting principles.
Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail.
