Financial Controller

Job Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage all aspects of financial operations, including financial planning, budgeting, accounting and reporting.
• Lead and manage fundraising activities, including engaging with banks and investors and exploring alternative financing options.
• Oversee all the corporate finance matters, including evaluating investment opportunities, conducting feasibility studies and leading M&A exercises and deal structuring.
• Provide timely and robust insights on the performance of the business, as well as appropriate recommendations to support management decision making.
• Drive financial analysis, forecasting, and modelling to support business decision-making and identify growth opportunities.
• Recommend improvement of internal control processes and procedures including implementing finance SOPs.
• Oversee company tax planning and GST/SST implementation.
• Conduct special projects for executive management or the Board of Directors as required.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal/external stakeholders, including auditors, regulators, and financial institutions.
• Lead and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Job Requirements:

• Malaysian with a Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting. A professional qualification such as MIA/ACCA/CPA is preferred.
• Minimum 15 years of experience with an in-depth understanding of the construction or property development industry dynamics, regulations and best practices.
• Experienced in fundraising and financing processes, including engagement with banks and alternative financing options.
• Well versed with Companies Act, accounting standards and income tax laws.
• Exceptional financial analysis, forecasting, and modelling skills.
• Excellent communications and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
• Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
• Sound business acumen, analytical, problem solving and decision making skills.
