Job Summary:
The Financial Controller will oversee the financial operations of the Group, ensuring the integrity of financial reporting and compliance with regulations. This role involves managing the finance team, developing financial strategies, and providing insights to support decision-making.
Financial Budgets and Reports :
- Oversee the annual budget preparation and submit it to top management for approval.
- Review monthly financial reports and analyses, which include the statement of financial position, income statement, and monthly cash flow forecasts.
- Draft and review annual financial statements in accordance with MFRS, IFRS, and the requirements of the Companies Act 2016 in Malaysia.
- Oversee the external audit, review and analyze the results, and recommend the audited financial statements for approval
Cash Flow Management :- Monitor cash flow and working capital to maintain liquidity.
- Develop strategies for optimizing cash management.
Financial Control :- Provides strategic recommendations to the Directors and members of the executive management team
- Develop financial strategy, including risk minimization plans and opportunity forecasting.
- Provide financial analysis, cost analysis, budgeting, and revenue forecasting to the executive management team to support decision-making.
- Monitor and review the effectiveness of financial controls to ensure they remain appropriate at all times.
- Review, implement, and monitor internal controls, financial policies, and procedures.
- Work with internal auditors to support the internal audit plan.
- Review the implementation of recommendations related to finance operations and other matters from internal and external auditors.
- Oversee the continuous improvement of accounting and financial processes, as well as the development of the team, with the goal of achieving best practices.
Financial Analysis :- Ensure management reporting processes are in place to support the ongoing and future needs of the business.
- Present monthly and year-to-date financials along with an analysis of the results.
- Develop regular reporting and analysis, manage key financial risks, and conduct ad hoc financial analyses as required.
Regulatory Compliance :- Ensure the company makes all required government remittances and remits applicable taxes.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local authority regulatory requirements, and other financial obligations.
Leadership :- Manage and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Conduct performance reviews and support professional development.
Qualifications & Experience :- Proven working experience as a Financial Controller.
- 5 to 10 years of overall combined accounting and finance experience.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
- Professional certification, such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CA (Chartered Accountant).
- Excellent user and administrative skills in accounting software.
- Experience with a Public Listed Company (PLC) is an added advantage.
