As a Financial Analyst I, you will report to the Head of Planning. This is a key role in the Group Planning team that will support the transition to reporting under Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards (ASRS) by analyzing the effects of climate-related risks and opportunities on our financial prospects and business strategy through financial modeling. Additionally, this role will support the Group’s financial planning activities, including the annual budget and quarterly forecast processes, strategic financial planning, financial target setting, scenario planning, and investment modeling.
What you’ll do
The role responsibilities include:
- Supporting the transition to reporting under ASRS.
- Performing financial modeling and analyses on the impact of climate-related risks and opportunities (including governance/verification to support scenario assumption).
- Supporting the annual budget and quarterly forecast process, including coordination activities, consolidated analysis, and reporting to Group Management and the Board.
- Collaborating, partnering, and providing value-adding analysis to other group functions (i.e., Investor Relations, Treasury, Strategy, Sales, Sustainability, Remuneration, Risk, and M&A) to support decision-making.
- Supporting other areas of the business with analysis to support decision-making.
- Building effective and reliable relationships with key stakeholders across multiple time zones (key locations: Australia, Houston, London, India, KL, Singapore).
What you’ll have
- Tertiary qualified in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a similar discipline.
- CA, CPA, or CMA qualification.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Ability to work under tight timelines across multiple time zones.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including financial modeling.
- Advanced business writing skills – i.e., ability to convey detailed financial analysis and key messages succinctly for the Board of Directors.
- Ability to build appropriate, constructive, and effective business relationships throughout the organization.
- Team player; demonstrates the Worley value of “Stronger Together” in all interactions with the immediate team and its stakeholders.
- Ability to summarize and transform data into concise, clear reporting that delivers commercial insight to management.
- Rising to the challenge and owning all deliverables and workstreams within their remit.
- Self-starter, with a high level of curiosity and the ability to work autonomously to troubleshoot/problem solve.
- Proactively identifying and taking ownership of opportunities to improve existing processes as well as reporting deliverables across the Group.
