Job Responsibilities:

1. Providing timely financial reporting to the Regional Finance Leader and Local Leadership teams, identifying potential issues, assessing risks, and proposing strategic solutions as a business partner.
2. Working autonomously, managing transactions conducted by the Business Centre.
3. Collaborating regularly with various teams to address key financial matters and working closely with the Office Administration team based in Melbourne.
4. Conducting sales performance reviews and providing advice as required.
5. Providing business support to respective divisions in the area of finance and assisting them in their decision making.
6. Responsible for providing financial information as applicable to business streams.
7. Supporting the Controllers as required.
8. Communicating risks relating to Malaysia to the regional finance leader and proposing corrective measures.
9. Supporting financial and commercial projects as applicable.
10. Validating any OPEX or CAPEX of the various teams before any commitment to a third party as applicable.
11. Supporting the Malaysia Leadership team as well as any associated teams.
12. Leading and working on global/regional projects as applicable.

People Management:

1. Working effectively with team members to manage general affairs for the Malaysia office.
2. Contributing to the efficient and effective workings of the finance department by executing daily tasks and by both reviewing and supporting junior team members.
3. Leading and managing departmental staff in regard to remuneration, career development, promotions.
4. Setting annual personal goals, monitoring progress, providing feedback and offering regular support to team members to help them achieve their goals.
5. Understanding what career development subordinates want to pursue and working with them to develop their weaknesses through coaching.
6. Effectively managing teams from the Manila Business Centre, supporting Malaysia.

Accounting & Tax:

1. Preparation of Annual Budget and monitoring actual vs budget for finance-related cost centres.
2. Management of tasks covering General Ledger and Fixed Asset, Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable.
3. Management of revenue recognition as per applicable incoterms and policy, while working closely with local staff and Business Centre staff for Supply Chain and Customer Care.
4. Delivering a controlled and streamlined month-end process.
5. Ensuring compliance and adherence to company policies.
6. Ensuring compliance and adherence to local GAAP and statutory requirements.
7. Liaising with internal and external auditors.
8. Production of annual statutory accounts as per Local GAAP.
9. Responsible for all statutory returns: Company Tax, Transfer Pricing, Indirect Tax Returns, Withholding Tax and Payroll associated filings.
10. Responsible for Malaysia insurance premiums.
11. Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing (U.S GAAP) in a timely manner.
12. Adhering to the highest ethical standards, demonstrating empathetic disposition and perseverance, and reflecting optimistic and positive attitude.
13. Member of Malaysia Leadership Team.
14. Working effectively with Local IT partner to meet IT & T requirements for Malaysia.
15. Leading and working on global/regional projects as applicable.
16. Managing applicable Malaysia contractual requirements.

Job Requirements:

1. Fully qualified accountant with tertiary education covering Finance and/or Accounting.
2. At least 7 - 10 years of relevant professional experience.
3. Experience with SAP 4 HAHA will be preferable.
4. Experience working in a matrix organization.
5. Experience working with Business Centre.
6. Experience with reporting platforms.
