Job description

  1. Month-End Closing: Conduct month-end closing activities, including obtaining reports and posting entries.
  2. Journal Vouchers: Prepare and review Journal Vouchers (JVs) for month-end entries.
  3. Account Reconciliation: Ensure Guest Ledger Balance, Clearing Accounts, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable are reconciled before month-end.
  4. Fees and Notifications: Establish Corporate Marketing and Management Fees, notify corporate after reporting.
  5. Finalization and Distribution: Finalize figures with management and distribute financial statements.
  6. Balance Sheet and Bank Reconciliation: Prepare and review monthly Balance Sheet and bank reconciliations.
  7. General Cashier Oversight: Ensure General Cashier (GC) activities and float requirements are in order.
  8. Accounts Payable Management: Oversee timely payments.
  9. Training and SOPs: Develop and use Lesson Plans & SOPs to train subordinates.
  10. Deadline Adherence: Observe all internal and external deadlines.
  11. Assistance and Oversight: Assist and oversee department sections in the absence of the Director of Finance.
  12. General Ledger Management: Ensure accurate recording of financial data.
  13. Financial Reporting: Prepare and submit various financial reports and reconciliations to corporate and owning offices.
  14. Audit Supervision: Supervise Income Audit Team and review daily income reports.
  15. Discrepancy Reporting: Report discrepancies and suggest resolutions.
  16. Chart of Accounts Maintenance: Maintain chart of accounts and interface coding.
  17. Purchase Requisitions: Assign accounting codes for purchase requisitions.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Accounting, or any related field.
  2. At least 4 years of experience within the hospitality industry (Hotel) at the management/senior management level.
  3. Good knowledge of hotel/lodge and/or resort experience.
  4. Excellent communication skills in English; Bahasa Malaysia will be an advantage.
  5. High degree of self-motivation and ambition.
