About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finance Manager to join our growing team at Hong Poh Engineering Construction Sdn Bhd in Penang. As the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations, implementing effective financial strategies, and ensuring the company's financial health and compliance.

What you'll be doing

• Developing financial strategies and plans to achieve the company’s financial goals.
• Preparing and analyzing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow reports.
• Preparing budgets and financial forecasts to help manage the company’s financial resources and track performance.
• Analyzing financial data and presenting reports to management for decision-making purposes.
• Managing the company's accounting processes, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and tax filings.
• Developing and implementing financial policies and procedures to ensure accurate and efficient financial management.
• Collaborating with the management team to provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
• Managing the company’s cash flow and ensuring that there is enough liquidity to meet financial obligations.
• Ensuring compliance with all relevant financial regulations and accounting standards.
• Managing and mentoring the finance team, providing guidance and support to ensure their professional development and ensuring that all financial transactions are accurately recorded.
• Identifying potential financial risks and developing strategies to mitigate them.
• Managing tax compliance and planning to minimize tax liabilities.
• Preparing financial reports and statements for internal and external stakeholders, including investors, creditors, and regulatory bodies.
• Collaborating with other senior executives to develop and implement business strategies that are financially sustainable.
• Performing other relevant duties as assigned.

What we're looking for

• Minimum bachelor's degree in finance or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar Finance Manager or senior finance role, preferably in the construction or engineering industry with a proven track record of success in managing financial operations and achieving financial goals.
• Proven track record of managing financial operations, including budgeting, reporting, and financial analysis.
• Work experience in a listed company is required.
• Excellent knowledge of financial and accounting principles, as well as relevant laws and regulations.
• Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
• Proficient in using financial software and Microsoft Office suite.
• Strong leadership and management skills to motivate and inspire the finance team and work collaboratively.
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written to effectively communicate financial information to management and stakeholders.
• Demonstrable leadership skills and the ability to mentor and develop a finance team.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to read, write, and speak Mandarin is an advantage.
