Finance Manager

We’re searching for an experienced Head of Financial Officer to join our team of high-performing professionals and keep our finances positioned for continued success. The HOF will have a day-to-day, ongoing impact on company operations, helping us to analyze, strategize, and grow our financial position. This seasoned strategist not only will understand current accounting practices and trends, but also will have experience raising capital and adapting to change, whether it’s through growth or downsizing. As a member of senior management, the HOF will be comfortable in a leadership role that requires clear and effective communication skills.

Job Description

• To ensure the Company’s Financial Accounts are in accordance with Statutory Requirements and Malaysian Accounting Standards.
• To prepare and submit to the Management periodic Management Accounts based on the reporting deadlines set by the Management.
• To manage and control company’s expenditure according to budget and to implement necessary cost control measures.
• To review and monitor the company’s financial position and cash flow on a regular basis including preparing Profit & Cash flow forecast as and when required.
• To develop budget proposals, provide access to project finance information, and ensure contract/grant compliance and reporting.
  • Perform risk management through analysis of company liabilities and investments, and evaluate and manage capital structure and fundraising initiatives.
• To ensure timely submission of the company’s annual tax return to Inland Revenue Board in accordance with statutory requirements.
• To liaise with Bankers, Auditors, Tax Agents, Lawyers, and government bodies for finance, admin, and legal related matters.
• To ensure the organization’s internal control system is in line with company’s objectives.
• To review overall sales and billing analysis for monthly meetings.
• To manage and develop the Finance staff and oversee Financial IT systems.
• Meeting with the CEO to discuss the best practices for company finances and coming up with strategic plans to improve their company’s overall financial health.
• To perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the superior/CEO.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Accountancy or Business Administration/Professional qualification in Finance or Accounting / MIA qualification.
• Minimum 5 – 8 years working experience in a technology-driven startup company environment/ICT industry and 2 years in a managerial position is a distinct advantage.
• Has sound financial and management accounting knowledge.
• Able to work well with a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Good interpersonal, negotiating, time management, and leadership skills.
• Able to communicate well with all levels of people.
• Well organized, detailed, analytical, systematic, and time, cost, quality safety conscious.
• Trustworthy in keeping company’s confidential matters and trade secrets.
