Job Description
- Develop and implement financial strategies to support business growth and operational efficiency.
- Provide financial insights to support executive decision-making.
- Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with local and international accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP).
- Prepare financial statements, management reports, and variance analyses.
- Oversee tax planning, audits, and regulatory filings to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
Cost Management & Operational Finance
- Monitor refinery operating costs, capital expenditures (CAPEX), and working capital.
- Identify cost-saving initiatives and process improvements.
- Manage financial risks, ensuring proper controls and compliance with corporate policies.
Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with senior management to align financial strategies with business objectives.
- Work closely with external auditors, regulatory bodies, and financial institutions.
- Provide financial guidance to department heads on budgeting and cost control.
- Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Ensure continuous improvement of financial processes and internal controls.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA, ACCA, CIMA preferred).
- MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification is a plus.
Experience
- Minimum 10 years of experience in financial management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Strong background in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or Refinery industry is highly preferred.
- Proven experience in financial planning, risk management, and cost control.
Technical Skills & Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and Malaysian financial regulations.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Language Skills
- Proficiency in Mandarin is preferred to liaise with regional stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Soft Skills
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
