We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Finance Manager to oversee our General Ledger, Record to Report (RTR), consolidation processes, and statutory reporting, including corporate income tax filing. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, managing the month-end close process, and providing strategic financial insights to support business decision-making. Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, this full-time and permanent position based in Kuala Lumpur requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of accounting principles, and a commitment to excellence in financial management.

Key responsibilities:

General Ledger Management:

  1. Oversee and manage the general ledger, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
  2. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  3. Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
Record to Report (RTR) Process:
  1. Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  2. Develop and maintain RTR policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  3. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary financial information and resolve discrepancies.
Financial Consolidation:
  1. Assist Finance Manager in consolidation of financial statements for multiple entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  2. Prepare consolidated financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, CAPEX and cash flow statements.
  3. Analyze and reconcile intercompany transactions and balances to ensure proper consolidation.
Financial/Statutory Reporting:
  1. Prepare and file statutory financial reports in compliance with local regulations (including BMM reporting, LOFSA, etc.) and accounting standards.
  2. Provide support during statutory audits, addressing audit inquiries and coordinating with external auditors to ensure timely and accurate completion.
  3. Prepare and present financial statements, reports, and analyses to senior management and stakeholders.
  4. Ensure that financial reports comply with company policies and procedures.
Corporate Income Tax Filing and Reporting:
  1. Collaborate with internal and external tax advisors to ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.
  2. Manage corporate income tax compliance and obligations, including timely filing of tax returns, tax estimates submission and related documentation.
  3. Support statutory tax audits when needed.
Process Improvement:
  1. Identify opportunities to streamline and automate financial processes, enhancing efficiency and accuracy.
  2. Lead initiatives to improve internal controls and risk management within the finance function.
  3. Key lead in group finance transformation projects.
Team Leadership:
  1. Manage, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
  2. Collaborate with internal and external auditors during audits and implement any necessary recommendations.
Key requirements:
  1. Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field; professional accounting certification is preferred.
  2. 5+ years of experience in finance and accounting, with a focus on general ledger and RTR processes.
  3. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
  4. Proficient in financial software and ERP systems; experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and SAP is a plus.
  5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong attention to detail.
  6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  7. Proven leadership abilities with experience managing and developing finance teams.
  8. Strong financial controlling and governance capabilities.
