Introduction:
As the Finance Manager of the company, you will oversee the financial management and reporting activities of the company, and will be responsible for budget planning as well as supporting the management team in offering insights and financial advice that will allow them to make the best business decisions for the company.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Reporting to management, you will oversee financial accounting, reporting, management accounting, analysis, monthly forecast, cash flow reporting, tax, audit, internal controls and corporate governance of the company, including those of its subsidiaries and affiliates. Being a crucial member of the management team, the Finance Manager job description includes, but is not limited to:

  1. Manage overall tasks related to the company's group financials, accounting, funds management, operations and admin.
  2. Lead, manage and work with the local and overseas finance and admin team, to ensure the day-to-day operations run smoothly and to ensure timely closing of financial accounts.
  3. Produce/review financial reports related to budgets, account payables, account receivables, expenses etc. for the company and its subsidiaries. He or she is also the key driver for financial reporting, internal control, and financial analysis, reporting to management and shareholders.
  4. Review/Prepare:
    1. accounting transactions to ensure recorded in accordance with the applicable FRS
    2. group consolidated and company level accounts on a monthly and annual basis
    3. monthly cashflow forecast
    4. quarterly GST submissions for Singapore and Australian entities
    5. annual financial statement and XBRL for Singapore entities
    6. annual returns, financial statement and audited report for Malaysian entities
    7. annual financial statement for Australian entities
    8. budgets and forecast for the business, especially keeping an eye on cashflow forecast, ensuring smooth liquidity in the company.
  5. Oversee, review and manage:
    1. tasks performed by the outsourced finance team of the company and its subsidiaries.
    2. consolidation works done by the outsourced finance team.
  6. Liaise closely with external parties such as auditors, tax agents, bankers and lawyers, as well as outsourced partners/vendors and external service providers.
  7. Work with company management to manage the company's suite of investments, joint-ventures and partners, while assisting in developing long-term business plans.
  8. Act as a key member to work with various internal stakeholders (such as business operations team, plant science team, engineering team and other internal senior team members).
  9. Liaise with other corporate HQ functions and collaborate closely with subsidiaries as a shared services centre to align and improve processes.
  10. Act as key partner to look at process improvement, system enhancement activities and strengthening current internal controls and processes. You will be involved in reviewing and ensuring existing financial processes are in compliance to accounting and corporate policies.
  11. Explore available grants and assist in grant applications to secure required funds and subsidies.
  12. Provide financial advice and facilitate accurate and efficient decision-making with the Business Development and Commercial team.
  13. Setting up and integrating enterprise software and applications required to manage the company's finances, accounting, production and supply chain.
  14. Act as the company compliance officer responsible for maintaining the company's corporate governance, policies, procedures and guidelines.
  15. Maintain good corporate governance, compliance to internal audits and ISO requirements.
  16. Implement e-invoicing system for Malaysian entities.
  17. Undertake other ad-hoc projects as assigned.

Profile:
• Degree in Accounting or related ACCA / CPA or equivalent professional qualification required.
• 5 to 8 years of Finance or Accounting experience, with 3 years in audit and 3 years in managerial/supervisory experience, exposure to audit and tax is preferred.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in group reporting and consolidation is preferred, minimally must be comfortable with mass data and multi business unit environment, prior exposure in external audit firm is a plus.
• Familiar with statutory requirements / tax systems in Singapore, Malaysia and Australia.
• Relevant experience in engineering/manufacturing industry will be an advantage.
• Experienced with financial modelling is highly desired.
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and prioritising in order to meet deadlines is important.
• Strong analytical skills, meticulous, with a keen eye for details and desire to probe further.
• Resourceful with strong negotiation skills and the ability to develop strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Possesses general commercial and business acumen.
• Demonstrate effective communication skills and leadership skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft office applications, with advanced Word, Excel, PowerPoint an advantage.
• Familiar with implementation and management of ERP and future digitisation projects.
• Proficient in accounting software Xero is preferred.
• Experience in MRPEasy software is preferred.
• Ability to stick to time constraints.
