Summary

The Finance Manager manages the day-to-day operations of the accounting functions, tax, and other specialized accounting functions for the system. Coordinates timely preparation of financial statements, ensures accuracy and timeliness of audit schedules, and monitors internal controls for these companies.

Detailed Description

  1. Supervises activities of Accountant & Tax specialist and leads preparation of standardized and consolidated financial statements supporting the Johor site.
  2. Manage and comply with local, state, and Central Bank reporting requirements.
  3. Supervise tax estimates and tax submission to the Inland Revenue Authority, ensuring tax schedules are completed on time for tax agent and tax computation for compliance with IRB requirements.
  4. Responsible for year-end closing and liaison with external auditors for quarterly and annual financial audits and liaising with MIDA on any requirements related to tax incentives.
  5. Assist in determining continuing compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
  6. Obtain, maintain, and manage complete financial reporting and recordings.
  7. Ensure timely completion of monthly, quarterly, and yearly accounting reports.

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

  1. Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Accounting & Financial disciplines.
  2. Professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, ICAEW, CIMA, or MICPA).
  3. More than 5 – 7 years of experience in Accounting, Tax, with 3-5 years in a supervisory role.
  4. Familiarity with ERP systems, SAP is advantageous.
  5. Experience in a multinational company is required.
  6. Candidates from a manufacturing background are strongly preferred.
  7. Knowledge and understanding of Accounting (MFRS/IFRS/USGAAP), Tax, Treasury activities, and SOX.
  8. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
