Job description

We are seeking an experienced Finance Executive to join our team on a 4-month contract basis (URGENT). This temporary role will be based in our Johor Bahru office and will provide essential support to our Accounts General Ledger function.

What you'll be doing

General Ledger Maintenance:

  • Maintain and oversee the company’s general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Prepare, review, and post journal entries for month-end and year-end closing.
  • Perform monthly and quarterly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
  • Reconcile sub-ledgers to the general ledger and resolve any variances.

Financial Reporting and Analysis:

  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Provide support for financial analysis, budget comparisons, and variance analysis.

Audit and Compliance Support:

  • Assist in internal and external audit processes by providing necessary documentation and support.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and accounting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS).

Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Support the implementation of automated systems or tools for financial reporting and GL management.

Documentation and Record-Keeping:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for all general ledger activities.
  • Ensure proper record-keeping practices for audit and compliance purposes.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in general ledger functions or a similar finance role.
  • Prior experience in corporate accounting, finance, or auditing is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent numerical and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP) and MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Good problem-solving and communication skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines.
