Job description

Job Summary:

The Finance Executive - Financial and Reporting will be responsible for supporting the finance team in financial reporting, analysis, and ensuring accurate and timely financial records. This role will involve preparing financial statements, managing budgeting and forecasting processes, supporting audits, and providing financial insights to aid in strategic decision-making. The Finance Executive will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of financial data, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and assisting in financial planning and analysis (FP&A).

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Reporting:

  1. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including the balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and cash flow statement.
  2. Ensure the timely and accurate completion of internal and external financial reports in compliance with accounting standards (IFRS/GAAP) and company policies.
  3. Assist in the preparation of management reports, highlighting key financial metrics and business performance.
  4. Reconcile accounts and prepare year-end financial reports, coordinating with auditors during the annual audit process.
2. Budgeting and Forecasting:
  1. Assist in the preparation and review of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  2. Monitor and analyze actual financial performance against budgeted figures, identifying variances and providing insights to management.
  3. Support the creation of financial models and projections for strategic planning.
3. Financial Analysis:
  1. Conduct regular financial analysis, highlighting key trends and financial performance indicators.
  2. Assist in identifying areas for cost control and operational efficiency improvements.
  3. Provide analytical support for decision-making, including profitability analysis, pricing models, and capital expenditure evaluations.
4. Accounting and Compliance:
  1. Ensure all financial transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner, following relevant accounting standards.
  2. Support compliance with tax regulations, statutory reporting requirements, and financial regulations.
  3. Assist in the preparation of tax filings and ensure compliance with applicable tax laws.
5. Cash Flow Management:
  1. Monitor and manage the company's cash flow, ensuring liquidity to meet operational needs.
  2. Assist with cash forecasting, identifying potential cash flow challenges, and recommending solutions to improve cash management.
6. System and Process Improvement:
  1. Support the implementation and maintenance of financial systems and software to improve reporting accuracy and efficiency.
  2. Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements within the finance function to enhance productivity and accuracy.
7. Ad Hoc Reporting & Projects:
  1. Assist in the preparation of ad-hoc financial reports and analyses as required by senior management.
  2. Support special finance projects, including mergers & acquisitions, system upgrades, and financial audits.
Qualifications & Skills:

Education:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  2. Professional certifications such as ACCA, CPA, or CFA (desirable but not required).
Experience:
  1. 2-4 years of experience in financial accounting, reporting, or financial analysis (experience in a similar role is preferred).
  2. Familiarity with financial reporting standards and compliance requirements.
  3. Experience with financial software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, etc.).
Skills:
  1. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  2. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  3. Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling) and other MS Office applications.
  4. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present financial data in a clear and concise manner.
  5. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  6. Knowledge of accounting systems, financial reporting tools, and ERP systems.
  7. Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis techniques.
