Finance Associate (AP function)

About the role

Fugro Shared Services Sdn Bhd is seeking a motivated Finance Associate to join our Accounts Payable team in our Kuala Lumpur office. This is a full-time position that will play a key role in supporting the company's financial operations.

What you'll be doing

1. Processing and managing accounts payable transactions, including invoice verification, matching purchase orders, and resolving discrepancies and issues related to invoices and payments.

2. Reconciling invoices, payments, and vendor statements to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.

3. Handling vendor inquiries and resolving any invoice discrepancies or payment issues.

4. Assisting with month-end and year-end close processes and audits.

5. Preparing reports and financial statements related to accounts payable.

6. Maintaining confidential and meticulous records.

7. Involvement in system migration matters.

8. Coordinating and collaborating with team members to identify root causes and work on counter-measures to resolve issues accordingly.

9. Continuously looking for improvements in the AP process and management of AP initiatives and driving improvement projects.

10. Ensuring compliance with accounting principles and company policies.

11. Providing support for other accounting and finance-related tasks as needed.

What we're looking for

1. Minimum 2 years of accounts payable experience, preferably in a shared services or similar environment.

2. Relevant diploma or degree in Accounting or Finance.

3. Strong attention to detail and excellent data entry and record-keeping skills.

4. Proficient in using accounting software and spreadsheet applications (e.g., Microsoft Excel).

5. Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

6. Able to communicate in Cantonese will be an added advantage to handle Hong Kong customers.
