Job description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee key finance and accounting functions, including financial reporting, cash flow management, budgeting, and audit activities, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Prepare feasibility studies to evaluate new business opportunities, such as acquisitions and market expansions.
  • Monitor financial performance and implement corrective actions to ensure budget adherence and operational efficiency.
  • Manage risk and financial stability through strategic analysis of liabilities and investments.
  • Develop and oversee business and financial plans to support long-term growth.
  • Negotiate and manage payment terms with international suppliers to optimize cash flow and reduce currency conversion costs.
  • Ensure full compliance with Malaysian tax laws, managing LHDN reporting and liaising with relevant stakeholders such as auditors and tax agents.
  • Oversee banking operations and maintain effective relationships with financial institutions to support business operations.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to meet statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform other relevant duties as needed to support the finance team and organizational goals.

Job Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required.
  • Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CPA, ICAEW, or CIMA is highly preferred.

Experience:

  • 8-10 years of experience in finance and accounting, with strong exposure to financial management, tax, and compliance.
  • At least 4-5 years in a managerial role, overseeing finance teams, and 2-3 years of experience handling international transactions.
  • Experience negotiating payment terms for global trading and managing FOREX transactions.
  • Familiarity with banking operations and effective engagement with financial institutions for international dealings.

Skills:

  • Proficient in both Mandarin and English to effectively communicate with diverse clients and stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge of Malaysian tax laws and LHDN reporting requirements.
  • Solid understanding of multi-currency management, including risk mitigation and optimizing conversion strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate payment terms to optimize cash flow and cost savings.

Industry Experience:

  • Prior experience in small to medium-sized companies in IT, software, consulting, or service industries is highly advantageous.
