Field Service Engineer - Southeast Asia

What you'll be doing

1. Install, commission, maintain, and repair equipment at customer sites
2. Provide operational training to ensure consistent and reliable equipment performance
3. Develop maintenance protocols and conduct regular training for local distributor service teams
4. Diagnose and resolve technical issues both on-site and remotely
5. Maintain service logs, submit detailed reports, and manage spare parts inventory
6. Address technical inquiries related to product usage and functionality
7. Deliver integrated hardware and application solutions throughout the product life-cycle
8. Stay current with the latest industry trends and technologies
9. Maintain strong client relationships and gather feedback for internal improvements
10. Recommend optimizations to enhance the after-sales experience

What we're looking for

1. Degree or diploma in Engineering (Optics, Mechanical, Electronics, or Biomedical preferred)
2. Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a Service Engineer or in a similar technical role
3. Strong problem-solving skills and experience with clinical devices or after-sales service
4. Proficient in technical documentation; fluent in spoken and written English
5. Proficiency in Chinese or a major Southeast Asian language is a plus
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
7. Skilled in using technical tools, instruments, and related software
8. Willingness to travel within Southeast Asia and beyond as needed
9. Experience in maintaining or debugging optical microscopes or DNA sequencers is an advantage
