Responsibilities
- Assist in cost management to ensure efficient use of estate resources and prudent expenditure in the estate’s operations.
- Oversee all aspects of oil palm plantation management within assigned areas, including the execution of operational tasks.
- Manage the field operations (weeding & manuring) to ensure tasks are performed to an acceptable standard and maximize productivity while maintaining control over workers.
- Manage harvesting operations to ensure timely execution, adherence to scheduled rounds, and compliance with harvesting standards.
- Monitor daily plantation operations, identify problem areas, and implement corrective actions to ensure maximum profitability, efficient use of operating expenses, and meeting annual planting/harvesting targets.
- Ensure effective monitoring systems are in place for all plantation tending tasks, including tractor work, spraying, weeding, trimming, harvesting, and slashing, as well as protection against fire and disease.
- Ensure compliance with all occupational health and safety standards, including the provision of adequate training and equipment for staff and workers.
- Develop and implement efficient work schedules to meet goals and targets.
- Regularly communicate and support the Estate Management team.
- Liaise with the estate manager, management staff, and employees.
- Perform any other tasks or objectives assigned by management.
Requirements
- Minimum qualification: Higher Secondary (STPM), ‘A’ Levels, Pre-U, Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree, or LISP & AISP certifications.
- At least 5 years of experience in the oil palm industry or a related field is required.
- Strong leadership qualities, excellent analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience in oil palm planting and replanting is an added advantage.
- Proactive, driven, detail-oriented, and independent individual.
- Fluent in Bahasa Malaysia and Bahasa English (preferred).
- Successful candidates will be stationed at one of the estates in Sabah.
