Job Purpose

The Facility & Utilities Engineer is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and optimization of facility infrastructure, utilities, and energy systems. The role includes implementing best practices for reliability, cost efficiency, and sustainability while ensuring compliance with ISO 50001 (Energy Management System) and other relevant standards. This position is accountable for 24/7 plant operation.

Principal Accountabilities

Facility & Utilities Management

• Oversee the operation and maintenance of facility infrastructure, including Plant Air Cond, compressed air systems, and chillers.
• Monitor and analyze the performance of utilities (electricity, water, air) to ensure reliability and efficiency.
• Develop and execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs for critical assets.
• Troubleshoot and resolve facility and utility-related issues to minimize downtime and improve overall efficiency.

Energy Management & ISO 50001 Compliance

• Lead energy efficiency initiatives and projects to reduce consumption and operational costs.
• Implement and maintain compliance with ISO 50001:2018 Energy Management System.
• Conduct energy audits, identify energy-saving opportunities, and implement corrective actions.
• Monitor and report energy performance indicators (EnPIs) to track efficiency improvements.
• Train and engage stakeholders in energy awareness and best practices.

Continuous Improvement & Sustainability

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives for facility and utility performance.
• Evaluate and implement new technologies for energy conservation and operational excellence.
• Collaborate with procurement and engineering teams to optimize spare parts management for facility equipment.
• Support environmental, health, and safety (EHS) programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Stakeholder Management & Reporting

• Work closely with production, maintenance, and sustainability teams to align utility and energy strategies with business goals.
• Prepare technical reports, root cause analyses, and recommendations for management review.
• Maintain accurate documentation of energy and utility-related activities, including compliance records and audit reports.

• Liaise with governmental bodies i.e. JBE, JKKP, DOE to maintain various certificates and licenses requiring periodic renewal.
• Take on any other duties which are within the employee’s skills and abilities whenever reasonably instructed.
• Duties and responsibilities will be extended to other departments as and when required.

Scope

Scope of Work for Facility & Utilities Engineer (with Energy ISO Background): The Facility & Utilities Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of facility infrastructure, utility systems, and energy management process.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical / electrical / industrial engineering / chemical engineering.
• 3 – 5 years working experience in Facility, Utilities, or Energy Management.
• Proficiency in energy monitoring tools, data analysis and reporting.
• Hands-on experience with ISO 50001:2018 Implementation, Audits and continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication skills to engage stakeholders at all levels.
