We are seeking to hire a Facilities Technician to commence employment as soon as possible.

Key Responsibilities

  • Performs assigned day-to-day repairs, emergency, and preventive maintenance. Completes maintenance and repair records as required.
  • Assists with installation and modification of building equipment systems.
  • Assists with troubleshooting and repairs of buildings and installed systems to include plumbing systems, kitchen equipment, roofs, drains, toilets, and school fittings.
  • Inspects new installation for compliance with building codes and safety regulations.
  • Maintains lighting systems throughout the facility, cleaning fixtures and replacing bulbs and lamps.
  • Performs welding, carpentry, furniture assembly and locksmith tasks as needed.
  • Responds quickly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance as needed.
  • Must be team player and good communication skills among colleagues.
  • Ensure all tasks assigned are completed in a timely manner and update to superior and email sender.
  • Must actively check email and respond to the sender upon completion.
  • Willing to work long hours.

Other duties and responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with others to develop effective professional relationships with subordinates.
  • Take instruction from FM and Executive.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties requested/assigned as required by staff & teachers, especially regarding the classroom, facilities defect.
  • Always follow the school’s policies and procedures.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma/Degree in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Knowledge in Computer.

  • Must have tact and diplomacy in all interpersonal relationships with the public, students and colleagues at work.
  • Must be self-motivated and have personal drive to complete tasks to the required timescales and meet high quality.
  • Be able to work constructively as part of a team, understanding school roles and responsibilities and own role within these settings.
  • Must be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people they are responsible for or come into contact with.
  • Flexible to adapt to changing workloads demands and new school challenges.
  • Personal commitment to ensure that services are equally accessible and appropriate to meet the diverse needs of the service users.
  • Personal commitment to continuous self-development.
  • Personal commitment to continuous school improvement.
