Facilities Management Technician (Data Center)

Responsibilities

1. Oversee and manage the assigned data centers' facility operations.
2. Regular physical / visual inspection of equipment and data center operations facilities.
3. Work with DCE to create procedure and risk analysis for site operation.
4. Liaise with DC Providers for all Mechanical & Electrical maintenance servicing affecting Data Halls.
5. Collate and review all Data Centers' Maintenance Schedule, ensuring minimal interference during Block Days.
6. Review documents submitted by DC Providers such as MOP, RA, etc for maintenance activities.
7. Track and record facility maintenance activities and change requests.
8. Raise and manage Change Management requests for all maintenance servicing activities.
9. Provide onsite support during scheduled maintenance / change events.
10. Provide regular reporting on progress as required (move, change, support request and change) and develop continuous improvement capabilities.
11. Respond to facilities level crisis management activities including, but not limited to, power outages, HVAC outages, fire alarms and security concerns.
12. Provide after business hours support based on on-call schedule when required.
13. Any other duties as assigned.

Requirements

1. Minimum of 2 years of experience in data centre facilities management and operations.
2. Good understanding and knowledge in data center infrastructure (electrical and mechanical systems, HVAC, power outages, fire alarms, etc).
3. Ability to respond to issues and provide timely progress updates, and escalations.
4. Experience working in a large-scale critical environment is a plus.
5. Analytical skills with a strong sense of urgency.
6. An agile mindset with the right attitude and ability to think out of the box are welcome too.

Advantageous Skills & Knowledge

1. Rack, space, power and cooling allocations for new install or relocation requests.
2. Data Center Operations or exposure in Critical Environments.
3. Understanding of DC Space, Power, Cooling Management.
