Facilities Engineer (DC)

Our client, a leading Data Centre operator, is seeking to expand their DC operation team in Klang Valley. This role is dedicated to Data Centre facility maintenance, to ensure the operation of the Data Centre is smooth and effectively managed.

The role:

The Facility Engineer is responsible for maintaining and optimizing critical infrastructure systems, including power, cooling, HVAC, and backup systems. They ensure operational efficiency, compliance with safety regulations, and effective incident management.

• Operations & Maintenance: Oversee critical systems (HVAC, UPS, generators, fire suppression, security, electrical).
• Monitoring & Performance: Track system efficiency, detect anomalies, and respond to failures.
• Maintenance & Compliance: Perform preventive/corrective maintenance and ensure adherence to industry standards.
• Emergency Response: Lead incident management for power outages, HVAC failures, and fire alarms.
• Asset & Vendor Management: Maintain inventory, track equipment lifecycle, and coordinate vendor services.
• Energy Efficiency & Safety: Optimize energy usage, conduct safety audits, and uphold compliance with regulations.
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain records of maintenance, performance metrics, and compliance activities.

Experience Requirements:

• Diploma/Bachelor’s in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in data center or related industry.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
• Proficiency in English and MS Office; engineering software knowledge is a plus.
• Willingness to work in shifts.
