Job Responsibilities
- Coordinate projects with internal staff and external contractors to meet project deadlines.
- Plan, schedule and prioritise the starting and completion times of projects.
- Conduct price comparisons, verification of Prs/Dos/ Invoices and work within a project budget.
- Plan and design schematic drawings to be used on projects.
- Provide technical direction, project management and assistance to developers, consultants, outside agencies and engineering staff regarding capital projects.
- Prepare and review RFQs and RFPs for professional engineering, architecture and landscape architecture services for various capital projects, assist other departments with engineering recommendations and selections of consultants/contractors.
- Perform construction management and field observations for various capital projects.
- Monitor and coordinate plant/machinery/vehicle/equipment operation and performance, including subcontractor machinery.
- File completed project documents for future reference.
- Coordinate with local authorities and relevant government bodies.
- Compile, prepare and submit weekly, monthly and periodic reports on capital projects.
- Manage the work of external consultants, develop schedules for design, bidding and construction.
- Prepare and review project schedules, investigate and resolve schedule issues on assigned projects.
- Provide supervision, technical direction and assistance to the other Project Engineers and/or subordinates.
- Prepare budget estimates for all capital improvement projects, approve materials, methods, equipment, specifications, cost estimates and other documents related to project design and construction.
- Prepare relevant verification documents and due diligence checks on project claims and contractor payments.
- Prepare proposals for new business development, including project conceptual design, implementation schedule, operating plan, contract/legal review, budget, project risk analysis, mapping, feasibility study, site observation report, etc.
- Provide solutions, suggestions, assistance, guidance and/or supervision to address the development and operational issues encountered by the Company and Development team (with emphasis on Waste Management and Projects related Facilities).
- Carry out audit/check and due diligence work on new projects/on operational activities.
- Coordinate Research and Development work pertaining to waste management.
- Perform research, analyze findings, prepare recommendations for project planning needs.
- Perform any other tasks or assignments as assigned by the Management.
Job Specifications
- Candidates must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Project Management, Environmental, Waste Management or equivalent.
- At least 3 years’ experience in project management, construction or project operations with or without exposure in the waste management industry.
- Meticulous and systematic in organizing work processes.
- Strong planning and organizational skills with sharp analytical and evaluation abilities.
- Good communication skills both verbal and written in multilingual i.e. English and Bahasa Melayu.
- Mechanical knowledge will be an added advantage.
- Able to work under minimum supervision and meet deadlines.
