A DAY IN A LIFE

As a start up, you can expect your days to be pretty varied. Multitasking is normal, and sometimes, your skills or natural talents will be leveraged to support other business priorities. That said, the bulk of your working hours should involve you having to:

Freighter Management

  1. Demand Forecasting and Capacity Planning
    • Preplan and forecast demand for available flights, including freighters, passenger flights, and 3rd party capacity while ensuring data accuracy of flights and cargo transported directly or via 3rd parties
    • Route cargo through the company's network and partners' network using a network algorithm to identify available capacity, routing, and delivery time, proactively responding to situations affecting the ability to carry cargo as planned
    • Provide regular updates on capacity allocation, cargo terminal load allocation, and load factor performance
  2. Operational Efficiency and Data Analysis
    • Collect, clean, and consolidate raw data from various sources or improvise it
    • Utilize Google Sheets, Google Slides, and Google Docs to create clear and professional reports and presentations, transform complex data sets into understandable formats for team interpretation
    • Analyse data to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies, providing actionable insights and recommendations to support decision-making and operational improvements
  3. Stakeholder and Product Management
    • Develop a working knowledge of the company's products and operational offerings
    • Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth operations
Business Development

  1. Sales and Revenue Growth
    • Meet or exceed sales targets by actively pursuing and closing sales opportunities, build longer-term customer affinity and successful delivery of KPIs
    • Negotiate and close deals, addressing complaints or objections
    • Schedule meetings with potential clients, assess their needs, and deliver tailored presentations or product/service demonstrations
  2. Customer Engagement and Market Research
    • Gather data and information from customers through web research or direct interactions
    • Prepare and deliver appropriate presentations and product/service demonstrations to potential clients
  3. Strategic Planning and Insights
    • Analyse market trends and customer data to identify new business opportunities
    • Provide actionable insights and recommendations to support business growth and decision-making
Requirements

These are minimum-requirement skills and a ‘must-have' for the role:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 1+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain management, or product management, preferably in cross-border e-commerce
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate market research into actionable product strategies
  • Proven experience in product lifecycle management and product development
  • Familiarity with logistics routing planning, SLA management, and supplier management
  • Excellent communication, project management, and leadership skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with diverse teams and stakeholders
