Job description

Planning & Coordination (EVENTS)

  • Propose menu as per budget given and per customer request.
  • Pre-setup for event flow and ensure buffet line and food arrangement is arranged.

Room Rental and Classroom Booking (EVENTS)

  • Prepare quotation and liaise with customer on the arrangement.
  • Classroom booking for Diploma students, exam and others related with School of Engineering.

Front Desk (EVENTS)

  • Replace receptionist during her absence.
  • Responsible for front desk tasks including visits or meetings set up.
  • Prepare signages for every event in PSDC (Corridor, Lobby, Door, Tent Cards and Food Venue).
  • Assist with Promotion Booth Rentals.

Costing (F&B)

  • Prepare costing for every menu, including daily and special event menus.
  • Ensure prices are up to date.
  • Suggest new menu items for variety and cost saving.
  • Search for new vendors or suppliers.

Operation (F&B)

  • Ensure all venues and equipment are in good condition and sufficient.
  • Maintain good communication and teamwork among staff.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction is a priority.
  • Conduct meetings and weekly briefings before special events or when issues arise.
  • Think creatively about how to promote and enhance our services.

Documentation (F&B)

  • Ensure all documentation, including passports, typhoid, and food handling classes, are in order and updated.
  • Plan and manage the yearly budget for F&B.
  • Inventory and purchase items for F&B.

Halal Application (F&B)

  • Ensure all documentation and halal certification from vendors are updated.
  • Manage application and renewal every two years.
  • Handle and oversee the Halal Committee.
  • Responsible for Halal audits and spot checks in the kitchen.
  • Ensure all chefs and F&B staff adhere to rules and that only halal products are used in our premises.

Cosmic Waves

  • Coordinate weekend catering.
  • Handle the Cafeteria Committee and inspections to ensure food hygiene is followed and obtain customer feedback.
  • Compile student feedback and evaluations.
  • Monitor and oversee operations; conduct meetings with caterers if needed.

Miscellaneous

  • Any other areas of coordination and assistance whether by own initiative or directive to provide a conducive training environment by improving technology and information support capability of PSDC and meeting internal and external customer requirements.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as deemed appropriate by the Department Head.
  • Take on any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Qualification and Requirement:

  • Degree in F&B/Culinary Management/Hospitality or Catering Management.
  • Experience in F&B, food costing, and purchasing of materials & products.
  • Good team player.
