Environmental, Health & Safety Officer

Alton Intelligent Technology Sdn Bhd was established in July 2022 by Alton Industry Ltd Group from the US. Its total investment is US$50 million. The mega factory is located at Pekan Nanas, Pontian, Johor, with a land area of about 45.25 acres and is expected to be completed and start operation in August 2024. The mega factory comprises 6 plants: motor assembly, sheet metal, plastic injection molding, die-casting, general assembly, and an automation intelligent warehouse. We specialize in manufacturing outdoor power equipment, air compressors, vacuum cleaners, industrial fans, motors, pneumatic tools, and other smart products. Other than production plants and a warehouse, the industrial park includes one block of a 5-storey office tower, 2 blocks of a 3-storey canteen and activity center, and 4 blocks of a 5-storey hostel for workers and management staff. Our workforce is expected to reach 2000 upon full production in the year ahead.

Qualifications & Experience

• Candidate must possess at least a Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety and Health from any professional body of institution with 3 years of experience.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment, knowledge in ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 / OHSAS 18001.
• Ability to work independently and enforce compliance with regulatory requirements.

Tasks & Responsibilities

• Advise any person-in-charge in the workplace on measures to be taken in the interest of the safety and health of the persons employed in the workplace.
• Inspect the workplace to determine whether any machinery, plant, equipment, substance, appliance, or process used in the workplace is liable to cause bodily injury to any person working in the place of work.
• Investigate any incident, near-miss incident, dangerous occurrence, occupational poisoning, or occupational disease that has happened in the workplace.
• Collect, analyze, and maintain statistics on any incident, dangerous occurrence, occupational poisoning, or occupational disease that has occurred at the workplace.
• Coordinate environmental activities and ISO 14001 compliance.
• Ensure compliance with safety and health regulations, standards, and procedures.
