About our group:

Johor Bahru Substrate (JBS) Plate Operation is a high technology, chemical-mechanical process responsible for deposition of Nickel Phosphorus on the Aluminium substrate memory disk in Seagate’s hard drive. We are a dynamic plate process engineering team that provides technical support and analysis to ensure smooth operation and stability of the process.

About the role - you will:

1. Handle the role of a shift lead technician
2. Attend morning meetings and ensure shiftly reports are updated
3. Execute process troubleshooting and follow up on quality issues
4. Perform shift rotation routine tasks and line progress
5. Prepare the plating chemicals for production utilization
6. Handle raw plating chemicals of the reservoir located at the plating line
7. Process the sample analysis of Nickel tanks
8. Work with equipment and process team for continuous improvement and stability of the tool
9. Perform continuous improvement on process OEE, Lean Manufacturing, safety hazards reduction and cost-saving projects
10. Support Process and Production during the manufacturing of discs by ensuring process flow, specification, procedure, and documentation are in place and in accordance with compliance
11. Implement effective process control to ensure product and process compliance/conformance

About you:

1. Self-motivated, positive working attitude & good teamwork
2. A good team player with self-initiative and good problem-solving skills
3. Willing to work in a clean room environment with 12-hour shift pattern consisting of day and night shift rotation
4. Willing to work overtime if and when it is required
5. Fresh Diploma holders in any Engineering field (Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical are added advantages) are welcome to apply

Your experience includes:

1. 3 to 5 years of hands-on working background in plate process in a manufacturing environment with Certificate or Diploma qualification in any relevant Engineering field (Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical are added advantages)
2. Fresh Diploma holders in any relevant Engineering field (Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical are added advantages) are welcome to apply for a Junior role
3. Working in a cleanroom environment will be an advantage
4. Process quality troubleshooting execution
5. Assisted Engineer in supporting the process quality improvement
