Engineer - Tooling Design, NPI, Process Engineer - Rubber Molding/Plastic Injection

We are looking for a dynamic and creative person to join our team.

You will play an important role in:

1. Tooling Designer

• Design new tooling, tooling modification and de-flashing Jig & fixture.
• Preparing Design for Manufacturability (DFM) for customer approval and tool maker.
• Collaborate with tool maker, process and tooling team to provide product recommendations for tooling improvement.
• Collaborate and review tooling construction/DFM with process team before tooling fabrication.
• Provide creative solutions to mold design and determine its suitability to existing process and machine in production.
• Tooling improvement to contribute into yield improvement, productivity and reliability.
• Ensure mold dimensions and basic qualities are met prior to actual mold-running evaluation.
• Support FA tooling buy-off activities such as mold testing and trouble-shooting of mold related issues.
• Maintain a systematic filing of all tooling related documents e.g. PRs, quotations, drawings, DFM, tooling history, tooling measurements, etc.
• Continuous improvement of QRF processing time with tooling quotation follow-up and compile tooling comparison quote.
• Document all new tooling activation activities such as comparison quote and tooling construction.
• VMM & CMM measurement for tooling buy-off.
• Work on tooling damage preventive action.
• Updating of all tooling related documents to reflect the latest and correct status.
• Any other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor or Manager.
• Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Mechatronics, Tools & Die).
• Min 3 years of experience in mechanical engineering/rubber industry.
• Ability to operate CMM machine and write dimensional report.
• Knowledge in 2D and 3D software such as Solidworks and AutoCAD is preferred.
• Able to perform tooling construction and DFM document.

2. NPI (New Product Introduction)

• Confers with management, operations, and sales team to discuss project specifications and procedures, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
• Coordinates and directs projects, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities.
• Facilitates the product launching process and ensures effective communication with stakeholders to promote awareness and understanding of new products.
• Keeps updated with the production of new products from project planning to mass production, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
• Collaborates with tooling and design personnel in development teams, evaluating and validating products after design changes to ensure manufacturability and functionality.
• Provides technical expertise or support related to tooling and process manufacturing, troubleshooting issues and implementing solutions to optimize production processes.
• Reviews product design for manufacturability and completeness, providing feedback and ensuring alignment with production requirements.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in process engineering, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Skilled in LSR Molding & Rubber Molding and demonstrates proficiency in molding techniques and materials.
• Candidates who experienced in Plastic Injection Moulding can be considered.

3. Process Engineer

• Liaises with Quality Assurance to monitor daily rejection and online defect occurrences, implementing corrective action as needed.
• Monitors production yields daily, weekly and monthly, analyzing trends and variances to ensure optimal performance.
• Identifies discrepancies by tracking actual vs planned cycle times and implementing measures to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
• Conducts in-depth analysis of the top 5 rejection parts and comes up with action plans for improvement.
• Collaborates with production leaders and supervisors to investigate root causes of defects and implement effective solutions.
• Studies process parameters and updates Process Sheet as necessary for problem-solving and improvements.
• Coordinates with New Product Introduction (“NPI”) Engineers to understand new projects statuses and requirements.
• Develops product feedback for tooling touch-ups, repairs and enhancements.
• Creates Work Instructions when necessary to ensure standard process practices by Production personnel and provide improvement on existing parts.
• Provides technical support to production on all process matters through daily scrap/reject meetings.
• Drives continuous improvement initiatives for all ongoing processes.
• Undertakes any other relevant duties assigned by immediate superior, Department HOD or management.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in process engineering, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Skilled in LSR Molding & Rubber Molding and demonstrates proficiency in molding techniques and materials.
• Skilled in managing new projects, from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
• Ability to provide detailed Product Feedback for tooling improvement, including determining tooling parting line and design enhancements.
• Comprehensive knowledge and proficiency in machine operations, coupled with meticulous document filing and control (both hard copy and soft copy), and the ability to provide Return on Investment (ROI) assessments for improvement projects.
• Candidates who experienced in Plastic Injection Moulding can be considered.
