Job Description

OVERVIEW

• Act as a technical generalist in a variety of disciplines including but not limited to equipment, process, mechanical, civil, structural, piping, electrical and instrumentation.
• Act as the overall coordinator for all internal & external engineering on projects as required. In this capacity, you are responsible for the successful design, implementation, commissioning, and hand-over of projects assigned by the Project Manager.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans; conferring with management.
• Determine project responsibilities by identifying project phases & elements; reviewing bids from contractors.
• Determine project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, performance standards; completing technical studies, preparing cost estimates.
• Confirm product performance by designing and conducting tests.
• Determine project schedule by studying project plan and specifications; calculating time requirements; sequencing project elements.
• Maintain project schedule by monitoring project progress; coordinating activities; resolving problems.
• Control project plan by reviewing design, specifications, and plan and schedule changes; recommending actions.
• Prepare project status reports by collecting, analysing, and summarising information and trends; recommending actions.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Maintain project database by writing computer programs; entering and backing up data.
• Maintain product and company reputation by complying with federal and state regulations.
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Process Improvement:

• Act as an internal consultant for the location to lead, define & develop continuous improvement activities & redesign activities.
• Support & integrate continuous improvement efforts at the site which includes completing technical studies; preparing cost estimates.
• Plan & coordinate training for others who will support the execution of continuous improvement strategies and tools.
• Lead problem-solving efforts to improve quality & eliminate waste / cost of poor performance at each plant.
• Apply statistical methods / analysis to improve process capability, reduce process variation & optimize breakthrough performances.
• Design, drive, and perform operational analysis of the manufacturing processes.
• Identify key elements of process improvement and partner with process owners to deliver sustainable and repeatable change.
• Develop and prepare the improvement indexes and related reports.
• Function as a process improvement expert regarding tasks, projects, and operations.

REQUIREMENTS

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and related operations / process improvement experience.

Work Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of working in a manufacturing environment.

Technical and Professional Knowledge:

• Requirements analysis, design skills, project management, manufacturing methods and procedures, process improvement, technical understanding, documentation skills, safety management, supervision, CAD, CAD/CAM circuit design.
