Job description
Job Purpose & Responsibilities:
- To plan, coordinate, schedule, supervise, and perform technical duties related to the activities of the Fertility Centre’s cases.
- To resolve ART laboratory-related inquiries.
- To monitor quality programs in all the ART procedures to ensure efficient operation of the section while reducing medical errors.
- Demonstrating operational knowledge of the IVF laboratory procedure applicable to the area of assignment.
- Providing safe and effective embryological services to customers to achieve customer satisfaction.
- Addressing customer’s complaints promptly.
- Exceeding set standards and quality in embryological care rendered.
- Attend in-service programs organized by the hospital and keep the IVF laboratory knowledge and skills current.
- Performing or carrying out embryological care as per Standard Operating Procedures and Policies.
- Ensure effective communication and collaboration with all parties concerned to ensure the best clinical outcome for the customer.
- Establish protocols for handling emergencies.
- Undertaking the supervision of junior staff.
- Assisting with the orientation of new members of staff.
- Act as team leader when the Manager/Chief Embryologist is away.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum a Bachelor's Degree in BioSciences (Master in Science will be an added advantage).
- A valid Annual Practicing Certificate is a must.
- Registered with the Allied Health Professions for Clinical Scientists (Embryologist).
- At least 3 years and above experience in the IVF laboratory.
- Possess all the andrology and embryology skills.
- Required IVF and embryological knowledge with the ability to counsel patients on all IVF laboratory-related procedures is preferred.
- A good listener, patience with emotional stability, and empathy.
- Effective verbal and written communication in both English and Bahasa Malaysia.
