Job Overview

The Senior Instructional Designer is responsible for overseeing instructional design projects, supporting ID talents, and contributing to the development of instructional design frameworks. This role includes managing ID deliverables, conducting training for the talent pool, and ensuring alignment with best practices in instructional design. The individual will act as a mentor for ID talents, driving excellence in eLearning content creation while enhancing frameworks and methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

Instructional Design Oversight

  1. Lead and oversee all instructional design projects, ensuring timely and quality delivery of eLearning content.
  2. Collaborate with clients and internal teams to design and deliver impactful learning solutions.
  3. Apply instructional design models such as ADDIE and SAM to guide content development.
  4. Monitor project progress, provide regular updates to stakeholders, and ensure adherence to quality standards.
  5. Conduct quality assurance reviews of instructional materials to guarantee effectiveness and alignment with objectives.

Talent Support and Development

  1. Mentor and support instructional design talents within the talent pool, providing guidance on project execution and content creation.
  2. Review and provide feedback on ID deliverables to ensure alignment with quality standards and client requirements.

Training and Development

  1. Conduct training for the talent pool: Deliver training programmes on instructional design methodologies, tools, and best practices for talents in the pool.
  2. Develop training materials: Design training curricula and resources that address both foundational and advanced aspects of instructional design.
  3. Facilitate workshops: Lead workshops for internal teams and clients to enhance ID capabilities and application in real-world scenarios.

Framework Development and Enhancement

  1. Contribute to the continuous improvement and development of instructional design frameworks, processes, and best practices.
  2. Research and integrate the latest trends, tools, and technologies to enhance instructional design methodologies.
  3. Ensure frameworks align with industry standards and client needs, fostering innovation and efficiency.

Collaboration and Client Support

  1. Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure instructional content integrates seamlessly with multimedia and technical components.
  2. Act as a consultant for clients, providing expertise on instructional strategies and learning solutions.

Qualifications Or Requirements

  1. Bachelor's degree in Education, Instructional Design, Linguistics/Languages or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in instructional design, with supervisory or consulting experience preferred.
  3. Demonstrated ability to lead projects and mentor team members.
  4. In-depth knowledge of learning theories, instructional design models, and eLearning technologies (e.g., Bloom's taxonomy, SAM, ADDIE).
  5. Exceptional language skills in English, with Malay and Mandarin being an added advantage.
  6. Exceptional visual design skills and ability to create engaging, interactive learning experiences.
  7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with internal teams and clients effectively.
  8. Demonstrated ability to manage projects and support a team within a consultancy-based model.
  9. Proficiency in authoring tools and learning management systems (e.g., Articulate Software, Camtasia, Vyond, video recording solutions, LMS, Media Server).
