A new opportunity has arisen for a skilled Commissioning Engineer to oversee and bring expertise to our team at Rolls-Royce Power Systems. We are headquartered in Friedrichshafen, Germany, and employ around 9,000 people. Our product portfolio includes mtu-brand high-speed engines and propulsion systems for various industries, including power generation and oil and gas.

Key Accountabilities:
- Responsible for genset commissioning of the diesel genset enclosure solutions delivered for Malaysia projects, including both FWT/FAT and SAT.
- Troubleshoot to resolve all issues arising from the FWT/FAT and SAT.
- Work with the team at the genset enclosure factory to understand system integration as per customer requirements.
- Support the system integration and installation of our genset enclosure and related systems on-site.
- Collaborate with regional and global teams on customer relationship management for key accounts.
Order Execution:
- Execute genset commissioning per approved FWT/FAT and SAT test scripts.
- Ensure the genset is prepared and ready for commissioning.
- Collaborate with the project manager (PM), execution engineer (EE), and enclosure integrator during the commissioning process at FWT/FAT.
- Ensure compliance with the Global Procedure on genset commissioning for our projects.
- Support the execution engineer in performing root cause analysis for major issues encountered during execution, particularly related to genset commissioning.
- Assist the Project Manager in enhancing lessons learned materials.
- Work with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
- Report to the PM and EE regarding commissioning of orders.
- Participate in genset enclosure FAT to understand deliverables to site.
- Align with the APAC hub to improve technical execution best practices for customer experience.
Other Matters:
- Travel overseas for business when required.
- Stay updated with technical developments in the market and internal products.
- Undertake special assignments as needed.
Qualifications and Skills:
- University/college studies in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in diesel genset commissioning (land-based).
- Hands-on experience in regional site installation, site supervision, and commissioning of diesel gensets.
- Strong understanding of diesel genset electrical and mechanical systems related to enclosure design.
- Knowledge of genset controllers, switchgear, and electrical power protection is advantageous.
- Good understanding of Asian cultures and business practices.
- Team player with proactiveness, good communication skills, and a positive attitude.
- Proficient in English and Malay, both written and spoken.
- Willingness to travel, mainly in APAC.
