Operation Management Trainee - Your future position?

We offer you the opportunity to start your career in Givaudan by joining our Operation Management Trainee Programme! The duration of the training programme will be 1-2 years. This is established to develop talents for future management positions in key business areas such as Operations, Supply Chain, Production etc. You will report to the Head of Operations while being based in Ayer Keroh, Melaka.

During the 1 or 2 year training period, you will be provided with assignments with the objective of building business understanding and cultivating skills & competencies. You will need to satisfactorily complete at least 2 assignments (potentially one of these will include overseas assignment within ASEAN region).

When you have successfully completed this programme, you will continue your career in Givaudan as an Operations professional, and apply your learning to our challenging business opportunities.

Sounds interesting? In this exciting role you also will be responsible in:

  • Coordinate one or more manufacturing processes to ensure that finished products are produced within quality standards and cost objectives, facilitating smooth delivery to customers.
  • Lead and motivate all factory staff on the production shop floor, ensuring compliance with all aspects of Safety, Quality (including ISO and food safety), and Productivity.
  • Establish manufacturing instructions and production versions, including specific requirements related to equipment, formulas, or dietary restrictions.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing issues related to non-conformances and inefficiencies in the production process.
  • Support local process technology improvement projects, Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives, and Givaudan Production System (GPS) activities.
  • Collaborate with Flavourists to ensure that formula designs align with manufacturing capabilities and adhere to New Product Introduction Rules.
  • Work closely with Quality and Operations teams to resolve product non-conformances, including internal issues and customer complaints.
  • Develop skills in Continuous Improvement (Belt certification) and problem-solving (PS certification).

Your professional profile includes:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Food Science or Food Technology.
  • 3 years of relevant experience in areas such as manufacturing excellence, operations management, process engineering or manufacturing/mechanical engineering within manufacturing-related industries.
  • Genuine interest in working within the Flavours industry.
  • Proficient in systems, procedures, and techniques related to process technology (e.g., liquids compounding, spray drying, powder blending, or ingredients manufacturing technology).
  • Familiarity of working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Basic knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Strong written, verbal, analytical, and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in written and verbal communication in English.
  • Basic understanding of financial concepts (e.g., OPEX, CAPEX) and tools (e.g., SAP).
  • Willingness to work in other countries within the ASEAN region.
  • Ability to manage pressure and ambiguity effectively, coupled with creative problem-solving skills.
  • People management experience is advantageous.
