EDW ETL Developer, 12 months extendable contract

The EDW ETL Developer will be responsible for analyzing the business requirements, design, develop and implement highly efficient, highly scalable ETL processes flowing data into EDW Core system. Candidate is required to perform daily and project functions with a focus on meeting the business objectives on time within a rapidly changing work environment.

Responsibilities:

1. Work closely with the ETL Lead, Solution Architect, Data Modeller, Data Mapper, Business Analysts to understand business requirements, providing expert knowledge and solutions on Data Warehousing, ensuring delivery of business needs in a timely cost-effective manner.
2. Assist in developing project plans, assigning the appropriate technical resources and cost estimations.
3. Evaluate and design data collection, data staging, data movement, analytics delivery, data quality and archiving strategies.
4. Lead and guide the other ETL developers in data profiling, source-target mappings, ETL development, SQL tunings and optimization, testing and implementation.
5. Provide reviews of deliverables and identify gaps/areas for improvement.
6. Provide/review detailed technical specifications and ETL documentation required in each phase of the SDLC, and comply with internal standards and guidelines.
7. Identify opportunities to optimize the ETL environment, implement monitoring, quality and validation processes to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
8. Provide 24x7 post-implementation support, respond to problems quickly and provide both short- and long-term resolutions.
9. Provide end-user support including business queries and requests.

Requirements:

1. 4+ years IT experience, with both hands-on and lead experience in providing enterprise data warehousing solutions.
2. Technically strong in SQL, ETL concept, design and development using tools like Data Stage, Talend, UNIX and enterprise database platforms (Preferable in Teradata, Oracle is optional).
3. Ability to lead a team of ETL developers to meet project objectives, tracking of status and reviewing deliverables at every stage of the SDLC.
4. Ability to identify required tasks and accurately determine needed resources and timeframes to complete a project and enhancements.
5. Domain knowledge in at least one of the following areas: Banking and Financial, Risk Management, MIS, Basel II and Marketing Analytics.
6. Must possess the following technical skills:
1. ETL Tools: Talend/Data-stage, ODI (Optional).
2. Platforms: Unix and shell scripting.
3. Interface Tools: Connect Direct, Secured FTP, DB2 Connect.
4. Jobs Schedulers: (preferable on Control-M).
7. Knowledge of FSLDM and modelling concept is a plus.
8. A self-motivated personality, and able to work efficiently by himself/herself, as well as, in a team.
