Evaluate and select alternative materials that meet project requirements.
Conduct cost-benefit analysis and risk assessments for material substitutions.
Collaborate with suppliers to source and test new materials.
Stakeholder Communication:
Maintain clear and consistent communication with all stakeholders.
Prepare and present project updates, reports, and documentation.
Address and resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during the project.
Quality Assurance:
Ensure that substituted materials meet all quality and regulatory standards.
Implement testing protocols and oversee quality control processes.
Monitor and report on the performance of substituted materials.
Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.
Implement best practices for material management and substitution.
Lead initiatives to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Experience: Proven experience in project management, preferably in materials management or a related industry.
Certifications: PMP (Project Management Professional) or similar certification is often preferred.
