Material Planner

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for material planning and delivery control in accordance with sales forecast and production schedule.

Minimum Requirements:

• Candidate must possess at least a Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Business Studies/Administration/Management or equivalent.
• Prefer 2 - 5 years of working experience in material planning/supply chain management is required for this position.
• Required skills: Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel (Pivot Table, VLOOKUP, SUMIF).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective negotiation and communication abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• To perform material requisition planning to support customer PO and forecast.
• Work closely with Order Processing and Purchasing on material replenishment planning to minimize inventory while fulfilling customer order.
• To manage material JIT delivery and prevent line down.
• Ensure the consistent and adequate supply of materials necessary for production
• Prepare accurate material report and updating Bill of Materials (BOM).
• To ensure effective actions taken against sole source and long lead time components.
• Provides timely communication to planners, sales and order processing operations on order status and problem resolution.
• Perform data analysis on the actual order Vs forecast, highlight to CS when there is a slow moving part.
• Plan the material purchase to support the production accordingly.
• Responsible for alternate sourcing and qualify supplier, contract management, supplier / vendor selection procedure.
• Actively work with supplier to reduce cost and shorten the lead time to achieve customer satisfaction..
• Work on continuous process improvement
• Undertake any other duties or tasks directed by superior or management as and when required.
