Job Purpose:
The Network Engineer will oversee and ensure that the network and server systems at Aerodyne Group are functioning well and meet the needs of our organization. He/She will need to provide technology support, troubleshoot, and maintain the company’s in-house IT infrastructure related to the network.
- Manage various operating systems and platforms (Windows, Mac, and Linux systems) including super-admin account management.
- Responsible for managing, troubleshooting, and proactively updating hardware and software assets to prevent downtime or zero-day exploits from occurring.
- Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security configurations.
- Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS).
- Able to set up servers (both physical and virtual), set up Windows failover clusters, ensuring security review and endorsement are completed.
- Collaborate with vendor(s) for maintenance support and project deployment.
- Responsible for monitoring network performance and integrity and familiar with access control models and network security.
- Manage HyperVisor platform (Proxmox and VMWare).
- Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company’s security team.
- Able to set up and configure the on-premise and Co-Location data center and GPU Server.
- Fulfill the SLA of server and network corrective maintenance.
- Support bridging and interfacing works between cloud and physical infrastructure.
- Manage system permissions and user accounts on company devices.
- Maintain network devices and network file systems.
- Select and implement network modernization in collaboration with the vendor.
Competencies (Skills & Knowledge and attributes):
As an Infrastructure professional, the candidate should have experience in software delivery, site reliability, and/or database/network administration for commercial large-scale software or services including coding and debugging.
- Hands-on experience in Windows, Linux, or UNIX Systems Administration.
- Hands-on experience supporting procedures and methodology in an enterprise environment.
- Understanding of networking basics.
- Proficient Level Understanding/Knowledge, Troubleshooting Experience on the following:
VLAN, L2/L3 VPN, SSL VPN, IPSec Tunnel, QoS, Fortinet Firewall, Network Switches (various model & brand).
- Possess good troubleshooting skills for SD-WAN related issues.
- Ability to participate in an on-call rotation and have the patience to communicate with a variety of interdisciplinary teams and users.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Experience managing large server fleets.
- Ability to support IT corrective maintenance on a day-to-day basis.
Formal Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or relevant work experience.
- Experience using a modern scripting language.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP networks and architecture.
- Knowledge of configuration management systems such as Puppet, Chef, Ansible, or related systems.
- Candidate with professional certification are preferable (e.g., Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or other certification related to the network administrator field).
