Job description

Job Purpose

Assist the Senior Vice President in implementing the legal matters of Khazanah to ensure the organisation complies with relevant legislation and regulation and as well to manage legal risk, provide quality advice to Khazanah achieve its objective also to ensure the contractual obligation or commitment by the company or subsidiaries managed by Khazanah are executed in compliance with the relevant legislation and in the best interest of the company.

Job Description

1. To provide advice, guidance and information to Khazanah and the group (where applicable) on matters pertaining or relating to Khazanah’s legal policies, guidelines and procedures to ensure that they are implemented accordingly;

2. To provide Khazanah’s business units with timely legal counsel on all relevant legal matters which include areas on investment, operations, projects, risk management, employment, intellectual property, corporate issues and funding;

3. To draft and review legal documentation (in consultation with external solicitors when necessary) which may include but not limited to:

  • Subscription agreements;
  • Sale and purchase agreements/acquisition agreements;
  • Restructuring agreements;
  • Joint venture agreements/shareholders’ agreements;
  • Documentation relating to bonds/warrants;
  • Loan documentations/shareholders advance/documentation relating to loan stocks;
  • Non-disclosure agreements;
  • Letters/terms of engagements;
  • Memorandum of understanding; and
  • Letters of intent.

4. To maintain positive relationships with internal and external parties including vendors, government/statutory bodies, industry practitioners and other stakeholders in the performance of your duties;

5. To coordinate and monitor services provided by external legal counsels; and

6. To monitor updates to relevant legislations as well as regulatory environment and make recommendations to update current practices to ensure compliance with laws.

Job Requirements

  1. 2 – 4 years of experience in reputable institutions or law firms.
  2. Preferred industry exposure in Financial Services.

Skills and Knowledge

  1. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  2. Good organizational & interpersonal skills.
  3. Able to work independently and work under tight deadlines.
