Sales Retail (Mari-Mari Cultural Village)

A Shop Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the smooth operation of a retail establishment. They assist customers, maintain merchandise displays, handle transactions, and ensure the store is clean and organized. The Shop Assistant contributes to providing excellent customer service and promoting a positive shopping experience for all patrons.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Customer Assistance:
   Greet customers as they enter the store and assist them in finding products or answering inquiries.
   Provide information about products, prices, and promotions to help customers make informed purchasing decisions.
   Offer recommendations and suggestions based on customer preferences and needs.
2. Merchandising and Stocking:
   Maintain attractive and organized product displays throughout the store, ensuring shelves are fully stocked and products are neatly arranged.
   Monitor inventory levels and replenish stock as needed, following established procedures for restocking and inventory management.
   Assist in receiving shipments, unpacking merchandise, and verifying accuracy of deliveries.
3. Point of Sale Operations:
   Operate cash registers and process sales transactions accurately and efficiently.
   Handle cash, credit card, and other payment methods in accordance with store policies and procedures.
   Issue receipts, refunds, and exchanges as required, following established guidelines.
4. Customer Service:
   Address customer concerns, complaints, or issues in a professional and courteous manner, seeking assistance from supervisors or managers when necessary.
   Ensure customer satisfaction by providing prompt and attentive service and resolving problems to the best of your ability.
5. Store Maintenance:
   Maintain cleanliness and tidiness throughout the store, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and cleaning surfaces.
   Ensure restrooms, fitting rooms, and other common areas are clean and well-maintained at all times.
   Monitor and report any maintenance or safety issues to management promptly.
6. Security and Loss Prevention:
   Assist in preventing theft and loss by monitoring for suspicious behavior, ensuring merchandise is properly secured, and following established security procedures.
   Conduct regular inventory checks and assist with physical stock counts as directed.
7. Product Knowledge:
   Stay informed about product features, specifications, and promotions to provide accurate information to customers.
   Attend training sessions and product knowledge seminars to enhance product expertise and sales skills.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous retail experience is preferred but not required; on-the-job training will be provided.
• Strong customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision.
• Basic math skills and proficiency in handling cash transactions.
• Physical stamina to stand, walk, and lift objects for extended periods.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
