Job description

Key Responsibilities

  1. Site Safety Monitoring & Compliance
  2. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations as per Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) 1994 and

Factories and Machinery Act (FMA) 1967.

  1. Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
  2. Monitor workers’ compliance with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.

Safety Training & Awareness

  1. Conduct daily toolbox meetings and safety briefings to educate workers on potential hazards.
  2. Assist in organizing safety training programs for employees and subcontractors.
  3. Promote a culture of safety by encouraging safe work practices and reporting unsafe behavior.

Incident Management & Reporting

  1. Investigate accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions, and recommend preventive measures.
  2. Maintain proper incident reports, safety records, and documentation as required by DOSH.
  3. Liaise with authorities such as CIDB, DOSH, and Fire Department for inspections and safety audits.

Emergency Preparedness

  1. Ensure the availability and functionality of firefighting equipment, first aid kits, and emergency response plans.
  2. Conduct emergency evacuation drills and ensure all workers understand emergency procedures.

Site Coordination & Communication

  1. Work closely with the Project Manager, Engineers, and Contractors to ensure safety measures are integrated into site operations.
  2. Enforce safety regulations among subcontractors and ensure they adhere to site safety protocols.
  3. Provide regular safety reports and updates to management.

Requirements & Qualifications

  1. Certification: Yellow Book Holder (Certified by DOSH Malaysia).
  2. Education: Diploma/Degree in Occupational Safety & Health (OSH), Engineering, or related field (preferred).
  3. Experience: Minimum 1-3 years experience in construction site safety.

Skills

  1. Strong knowledge of OSHA 1994, FMA 1967, and CIDB regulations.
  2. Ability to conduct safety training and risk assessments.
  3. Good communication and leadership skills.
  4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for reporting.

Working Conditions

  1. Work Location: Construction site (outdoor environment, exposure to dust, noise, and heavy machinery).
  2. Working Hours: May require extended hours, weekends, and public holidays depending on project needs.
  3. Physical Requirements: Must be physically fit and able to walk around site areas regularly.
